Z39.58-1992 commands by functional group
Abstract:
NISO Z39.58, "Common Command Language for Online Interactive Information Retrieval", defines the vocabulary, syntax, and operational meaning of nineteen command terms used in online information retrieval systems. However, they are described for use in a command-line interface rather than a GUI. This presentation describes how an object-oriented GUI can replicate the functionality defined in Z39.58 while adding ease of use and object persistence.
